Why We Serve
Go Enabled is family owned and operated by the Kellam family in Elkin, NC. My name is Joel. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2007. For many years my mobility difficulties were minor, but in 2017 those difficulties began to progress. I am still able to walk short distances if I am careful, but now require mobility assistance to do most activities. As the issues progressed, without even realizing it, I began to withdraw from a lot of outings and activities. I would often abstain from outdoor events, concerts and family outings due to the difficulty, fatigue, and pain that would come from it. I went on a cruise with my wife, April. We were very concerned about all the walking, so I rented a scooter. It was the best vacation I'd had in a decade. I now make use of a scooter regularly and my two grandkids love to go on rides with PePa. Two years ago, I began dreaming and planning what I could do to help others with mobility challenges to Go and Go Enabled. I am grateful for my family's support and that two of my adult children, Alex Kellam and Katie Kellam, are able to work with me. Our plan is to Go and Enable people to live in the moments that matter!
